We Understand Children
Representing children is a serious responsibility because the repercussions of what could happen may follow a child for the rest of their his/her. Thus, children deserve competent representation before the Juvenile Court.
Mr. Leebrick personally handles delinquency petitions, where a child is charged with a criminal offense. The rights, rules, and procedures that apply to adults charged with criminal offenses apply equally in a juvenile proceeding. Fortunately, a judge has much more flexibility in sentencing a child convicted in the Juvenile Court. A lawyer’s concentration must include the facts that determine the outcome and, if guilty, what factors may influence a judge’s sentence.
Mr. Leebrick is qualified throughout the Twenty-Fourth Judicial Circuit to represent juveniles as their guardian ad litem in matters where the court determines that a child needs a lawyer to represent his/her best interests. We accept privately retained appointments rather than court appointments in these matters.
Mr. Leebrick also has a familiarity with school discipline issues and has represented clients in matters pertaining to suspensions, expulsions, etc., in our local school systems.
